  • A-Team

The A Team is a special group of children who understand what it’s like to face some of the challenges that come with Autism. We meet every two weeks to share our ideas, talk about our experiences, and think of fun ways to help everyone learn more about Autism.

In our meetings, everyone gets a chance to speak up and be listened to. The A Team comes up with new ideas to make our school a kinder, more welcoming place for everyone. We don’t just keep our ideas to ourselves – we share them with the whole school and even the wider community, so more people can understand and celebrate Autism.

Together, we work on projects, activities, and events that spread the message that being different is something to be proud of. The A Team is all about teamwork, acceptance, and making sure everyone feels included and supported.

What have the A Team been up to?

Some members of The A Team recently came together to explore one of our newly opened Sensory Rooms. During their visit, they engaged with a variety of sensory resources designed to support wellbeing and emotional regulation. They took time to explain how each item worked, such as calming lights, textured objects and soothing sounds. The children shared how these elements made them feel. Many described the experience as making them feel calm and happy.
